Our Cultural Trip’s main activities:

KUNG FU

Kung fu or 功夫 (gōng fu) is a Chinese term referring to any study, learning, or practice that requires patience, energy, and time to complete. In its original meaning, kung fu can refer to any discipline or skill achieved through hard work and practice, not necessarily martial arts. The Chinese literal equivalent of “Chinese martial art” would be 中国武术 zhōngguó wǔshù.

CALLIGRAPHY

Chinese calligraphy or 书法 (shū fǎ) is the artistic expression of human language in a tangible form. Distinguishing features of Chinese painting and calligraphy include an emphasis on motion charged with dynamic life. It has also led to the development of many forms of art in China, including seal carving, ornate paperweights, and inkstones.

AROMATHERAPY

In Chinese medical theory, Yin and Yang manifest pathologically in concepts of cold and hot, deficiency and excess, damp and dry, whereas “Qi” can be loosely translated in some contexts as “life force”, or in others as “energy”. It is through various medicinal herbs, that we can influence this: some herbs have ascending actions, while some descend; some invigorate while others sedate.

TEA CEREMONY

A tea ceremony is a ritualized form of making tea practiced in Asian culture by the Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian, and Vietnamese. The tea ceremony, literally translated as “way of tea” in Japanese, and “art of tea” in Chinese, is a cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of tea.
