Primary School English Teacher in Beijing
Job Purpose:
To teach English language and pronunciation to Chinese elementary students, through the use of interesting, self-prepared teaching material, songs and games.
Job Description:
- City: Beijing
- Campus location: Sanlitun in Chaoyang District, Beijing
- Student ages: 6-12 yrs
- Subject: Spoken English
- Semester time:
- Beginning of September to the end of December
- Beginning of March to the end of June
- Lessons: 80 – 100 lessons/month (1 lesson = 40 minutes)
Job Requirements:
- Teachers must be native speakers from the following countries: US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, Republic of Singapore, Republic of South Africa, Anguilla, Bahamas, Barbados, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, or Grenada
- Teachers must be able to teach and enjoy teaching Chinese children English
- Teachers must respect the school rules and the Chines law during their stay in China
- It is preferable if the teacher has teaching experience (specially teaching children)
- It is preferable if the teacher has a certificate to prove their proficiency of the English language and their ability to teach English as a second language
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teachers will complete a viable teaching plan based on their teaching schedule
- Teachers will correct the students’ pronunciation and will help build their oral communication skills
- During foreign English/American holidays, teachers will organise and arrange cultural lessons and will explain the concepts of such holidays and the history and culture behind them
- Teachers will communicate with the local Chinese English teachers in the school and discuss about various teaching methods
- Teachers will prepare and arrange oral tests and written exams according to the students’ level
- Teachers will follow the school’s dress code while teaching at the school

- Option 1: Salary + Chinese lessons + housing
- Duration: 1 year
- Housing: Live in CMS Gaobeidian Campus in a single room
- Lessons: 20 private Chinese lessons/month
- Meals: Breakfast and lunch (Mon to Fri) are provided in the local public elementary school
- Visa: Z-visa
- Option 2: Salary + Chinese lessons
- Duration: 1 year
- Lessons: 20 private Chinese lessons/month
