Private Standard Chinese Course (PS)

The Private Standard Chinese Course is, like the Standard Group Chinese Course, best equipped to satisfy the needs of a student that wants some liberty in his afternoons. The difference compared to the group class is the intensity and the flexibility of the content to learn. Individual classes will challenge you to a much higher degree, as its only you who can give the answers to the teachers questions – mandarin progress is literally inevitable.

Student Profile

You have been to Beijing already and/or are familiar with China to a certain degree. Maximum progress and maximum flexibility for your individual discovery of local culture are your main concerns. You want to live Beijing and Chinese language and culture to the fullest, and this class provides you with the opportunities to do so.

Chinese progress

Since the amount of lessons, 15 a week, is relatively low, the progress depends on the focus of the class and the desired intensity and speed of your progress. It is up to you!

Afternoon activities

If you want to combine your morning classes with guided tours or group activities, of course you can join in with the Capital Mandarin School afternoon programs.

Private Intensive Chinese Course (PI)

The intensity of this package is the highest Capital Mandarin School can offer. It’s your program, at your speed, with your focus . The five daily hours from 09:30h to 12:20 as well as from 13:30 to 15:20 OR 15:30 to 17:20 make you work your language processors the most intense way possible.

Student Profile

Students deciding for this class are mostly students who want to start studies at a Chinese university (Bachelor and Master level) and need to pass HSK 4 or 5 as soon as humanly possible (usually after 780 class hours at least).
Shorter term Private Chinese Courses are equally often booked by professionals who want to expand their business in China or who have been sent to China on an expat position starting soon.
All of the Private Chinese Class students have one thing in common: Chinese skills are acquired to fulfil a predefined goal. Often the crucial factor in this endeavour is time: time is scarce! If you want to learn Chinese in the shortest of times, Private Intensive Chinese Classes are the way to go.

Package classes are bought in bundles of 10, 20, 50 or 100 hours and follow a weekly rhythm of your choice, either Tue/Thu (standard) or Mon/Wed/Fri (intensive) – you can even choose the most convenient starting time before 16:00h.

Missed classes? No problem!

You cannot make it to one of the scheduled classes? No problem, the lessons you miss can be added at the end of the specified class period. The maximum of the prolongated period is 50% of the standard period (I.e.: 50 lessons, 4 hours/week = 12.5 weeks. 12.5*1.5 = 19 weeks. The 50 lesson package can be used in the 19 weeks after class starting date), which leaves ample time to finish the lessons you booked originally.

Pronunciation Packages (P1o, P2o)

Pronunciation is one of the hardest parts about learning Chinese. Especially the tones can give foreigners head and tongue aches. Here we have the solution: Pronunciation classes for beginners who struggle to get into Chinese and for advanced students who want to sort out the last flaws in their speech. Beijing is the best place to root out such problems and learn perfect mandarin in everyday interaction, as the everyday language is very closest to actual standard mandarin pronunciation.

Pronunciation Package Level 1 (P1o)

Level 1 is conceived for beginners (max. intermediate level, <HSK3) who would like to get their pronunciation as correctly as possible from the very start.

Pronunciation Package Level 2 (P2o)

Advanced level 2 is conceptually different from the beginner level 1: it focusses on advanced speakers (min. upper intermediate, HSK3<) who would like to correct existing mistakes. The class tempo is higher due to the advanced level of the students, and basic pronouncing techniques get a brush up, while advanced, sentence-based pronunciation, linguistics and physiological content (mouth anatomy, tongue flexibility, etc.) are elaborated in detail.
