Die Capital Mandarin Sprachschule wird im Sommer 2009 ein Sommer Camp in Peking vom 4. Juni bis 13 August halten. Das Programm bietet die Möglichkeit neben dem Unterricht in Chinesisch an einem reichhaltigen Angebot an Touren und Kulturprogrammen in Peking teilzunehmen.

Programm Details:

1.Kurse

Sprachkurse werden für verschiedene Sprachniveaus angeboten und Kursteilnehmer werden am Anfang des Programms einem Einstufungstest unterzogen. Das Teilnehmer-Maximum von jedem Kurs beträgt 8 Leute. Bestandteil des Programms werden 4 Unterrichtseinheiten Chinesisch am Morgen und zwei „Kultur-Unterrichtseinheiten“ am Nachmittag sein. Der chinesische Kulturunterricht umfasst: Calligraphy, Martial Arts, Handcrafts, Tai Ji, usw. Am Ende des Programms wird jedem Kursteilnehmer ein Zertifikat über die erfolgreiche Teilname an dem Programm in einer Abschlussfeier überricht.
Die oben genannten Zeiten können variieren. Die Gesamtzahl an Unterrichtseinheiten wird davon jedoch nicht tangiert. .

2.Traveling

In addition to study, students will also enjoy group outings to see weekly night shows such as Beijing Opera, Acrobatics, LaoShe Teahouse, Chinese movies and etc. On weekends, students will tour the famous and historical sights in Beijing for the entire day. (Forbidden City, Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, Hutong Tour, etc)

Boarding

1、Home-Stay (only for 12-25 years old student)
Special opportunity for the students who want to live with a Chinese traditional family, and the perfect environment to practice speaking.
2、Apartment (adapt for Family Package)
We will arrange a 1 or 2 bedrooms-apartment for the family. And we also have a suitable Language Course for parents.

Dining Standard: (only for Home-Stay)

Breakfast: Orange Juice/Milk, Fried Eggs on Toast

Lunch: For Lunch will be dining in school. We have various kinds of Chinese food, such as Sichuan Food. It will be different everyday.

Supper: The host will cook the best dishes.

1. If you can spend 1 hour per day to teach your host family, you can get our special offer which is your application fee (USD 100) will not be charged.
2. If you can find 2 (or more than 2) students to attend our Summer Programs, all of you will get a 10% discount.

Cancellation and RefundPolicy

Home-Stay Only:

Application fee of US$100 is non-refundable. Two weeks Home-Stay fee will be charged if you cancel your booking before arrival in China. No refund for cancellation after your arrival in China or after the host family's contact info has been provided to you.
If you are not happy with your host family after arrival in China, we can change one family location for you. If you can't get along with the new family, it's your responsibility to make a decision about your accommodation. Your Home-Stay fee will not be refunded.

Mandarin
Family Package Only:
Application fee of US$500 is non-refundable. If you are not satisfied with the apartment we provided after arrival in China, you should inform us within 24 hours, then we could change one apartment for you within 7 days.
If you are not satisfied with the new apartment, it’s your responsibility to make a decision about your accommodation. Your Family Programs fee will not be refunded.
If you leave the apartment before the scheduled date, the remaining Family Package fee will not be refunded.

Application Process

A) All applicants must be age 7 and older. Since the space is very limited, please register as early as possible.
B) Please prepay the 30% program fee, send us the copy of the wire transfer with the application form, a copy of your passport ID page, and 3 passport ID photos 1 month before the Programs Start Date. After we confirm your registration, the balance of the program fee must be paid in full in 7 days.

FAQs

I am an absolute beginner in Chinese; am I eligible to apply for your program?
50% of our applicants are beginners in Chinese. Our Chinese learning

programs are open for students at all levels- beginning to advance and no minimum language ability required.

What's the age requirement for the program?
All the applicants must be between the age of 7 and 30. According to the past years' experience, the majority of the students are between 14 -18.
How much money should I bring?
During summer, some students may need to purchase items, or to pay a certain routine costs, such as laundry, swimming, Internet cafes and other costs. We do not want to raise the students with extravagant lifestyle, $20-$50 dollars every week would be plenty.     
What should I bring to China?
1. Clothing: One thick overcoat to wear on the plane; Daily summer clothes; swimsuits; socks, sneakers, sandals, slippers, T shirts, pajamas, sunglasses, backpack, etc.
2. Cleaning Products: toothbrush/paste, comb, shampoo, towel, water bottle, flashlight, etc.
3. Medical products: bug-free spray; sun-block lotion, some cold and common medication and other personal prescription medicines.
I want to visit some other cities in China; can you help to buy the air ticket?
We can provide service of buying air flight tickets if you need. You can pick the date of the return ticket without conflicting with the program schedule.
Can I join the program after it begins?
We do not recommend students to join the program after summer program starts. This is inconvenient to the management and the study participants. But if an individual student has special reason, with our prior consultation and without prejudice to other students of normal learning, we may accept student's joining. But we cannot therefore carry on to the student compensation.
Where can I exchange Chinese currency?
Students can exchange the Chinese currency at the China Bank located near the school. We suggest guardian collect money from other members and exchange the money all together.

What is the Family Package?
Family Package is specially provided for a family who wants to live with their child/children. We will charge it according to the amounts of children who attend in our courses, and we also have a suitable course

for parents.
Is there a suitable apartment for my family, which has 2 children?

Rules and Disciplines

Basically, we provide 2-bedroom apartment for a family. If you want a 3-bedroom or a bigger apartment, you should inform us 4 weeks before you register. And the extra fee for that is $ 400 USD.

Be Safe, Be Healthy,Be safe:

1. Follow the program schedule. Report to the guardian if you meet any problems. If you are in special situation, ask for the advice from the guardian first instead of acting by yourself.
2. If you need to go off school or the host family, you should get the permission from the guardian in advance. Otherwise, you will take full responsibility by yourself under any circumstance.
3. For students who are under 18 and need to go out, in addition to obtaining the permission from the guardian, you should be accompanied by adult relatives or trustees. If you meet emergency when you are outside, dial 110 for police and 120 for ambulance.
4. After the courses every day, you are required to attend a short meeting. At the meeting, the guardian will summarize the day is events and arrange the next day activities.
5. All students should return to their accommodation before 10:00pm every night. Students should contact with the guardian when they return.
6. The guardian will count the students at 10:00pm every night.

Behave Well:

1. Abide by the Chinese and American laws and decrees.
2. Don't destroy the public facilities or other people's belongings.
3. Respect others, use polite language. Don't annoy, threaten, hurt or insult any people.

Study Well:

Take the lessons according to the schedule, obey the class rules, respect the teachers and do the homework. If you have special reasons that you cannot attend the class, report to the guardian in advance.

Travel Well:

1. During traveling, you should strictly follow the schedule and obey the rules.
2. Students will be divided into groups and each group has a leader.
3. The responsibility of the leaders is to take care of the group members, follow the schedule and assist the guardian.
4. The group members should follow the group leaders and the group leaders will listen to the guardian’s instruction.

Be Careful:

1. For the students who are under 18, the guardian will keep their passports and air-tickets during the program period (Students should keep a copy themselves).
2. All the personal belongings and money will be kept by the students themselves. (We do not suggest bring any valuables, any expensive property should be kept in the safe.)
